NJ INDEPENDENCE — Independence approves housing element, fair share plan. The Township Committee unanimously endorsed the 2025 Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan addressing the township's fair housing obligations. Mrs.
Gesumaria moved approval, seconded by Mr. Stuber, with all four present members voting in favor. The endorsement responds to an April 2025 court order setting obligations at 6 units of present need and 44 units of prospective need under New Jersey's Fair Housing Act and Mount Laurel doctrine.
